ABOUT

GoGo Baroness

A practice in polarity and tension of energies, Precise and Playful, Structured and Spontaneous.

I consider myself a recovering creative.

Raised on Japanese comic books, and art being the only subject I truly enjoyed in my schooling years. I took a deep dive in figure drawing, 3D woodworking and sculpture in college only to end up questioning art for the sake of art, its purpose, its function. I was burnt out on creative practice for years in early adulthood.

In the meanwhile I picked up sewing first as a necessity to hem my jeans on my short 4’11” stature. Slowly evolving as a more practical and useful hands-on activity with functionality of the end product. In the working world I ended up in the furniture industry for 10 years that shaped my appreciation of creativity with functionality and purpose in a design.

Jobwise I professionally evolved into a “ highly functional Introvert gallavanting as an Extrovert” role in white collar New York City. I succeeded in the role on paper/social profiles, but in hindsight it was slowly burning me out in its own workaholic grinding way.

After a major life event Summer of 2026 of a near death experience of heart failure by a mysterious virus, I turned back to a 2D practice of pen to paper, a processing, digesting, questioning period of life and spirituality.

I’m here now to re-discover a practice in 2D in my creative pursuits, while mixing it up with my sewing. Taking time to post some earlier projects that I never had the guts to share with the world. Experimentation, Failure, a work in progress to be Vulnerable and share my Joy.

I welcome you to join me on my meandering design journey.

Yours Truly,

GoGo Baroness
